Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

Story: As the sequel to the successful 2018 film, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is the upcoming American superhero movie based on DC Comics character, Aquaman. In the latest instalment, Jason Momoa returns as Aquaman, the half-Atlantean/half-human ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. This popular superhero can swim at supersonic speeds and communicate with aquatic life. When an ancient power is unleashed, Aquaman must forge an unsettling allegiance with an unlikely ally to not only protect Atlantis, but, the entire world from irreversible devastation.

Get to know some of the key characters in the latest Aquaman adventure.

Arthur Curry/Aquaman: The half-Atlantean/half-human king of Atlantis who has supersonic swimming speed and can talk to aquatic life.

King Nerus: The king of Xebel, one of the underwater kingdoms of Atlantis and father to Mera.

Mera: The princess of Xebel and daughter of King Nereus who can control water and communicate telepathically with other Atlanteans.

Nuidius Vulko: The chief scientific adviser Atlantis and a mentor to Arthur.

Orm Marius: Arthur’s Atlantean half-brother and previous king of Atlantis who is imprisoned for past crimes against Atlantis.

Tom Curry: A lighthouse keeper who marries Queen Atlanna and the father of Arthur Curry.

Atlanna: Arthur and Orm’s mother and the former queen of Atlantis.

David Kane/Black Mantra: A ruthless pirate who uses and Atlantean armored suit and intends to take revenge on Aquaman.

Aquaman Antics.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was supposed to be released late last year, however, experienced date changes due to reasons including, post-production and financial setbacks.

Some of the filming locations for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom included the United Kingdom, Hawaii, Los Angeles and New Jersey.

The first Aquaman film was somewhat of a surprise success for DC and Warner Bros. Despite an estimated budget of between $160 million and $200 million, the movie exceeded expectations and grossed over $1.148 billion worldwide.

The working title for the film was “Necrus” representing the same name of an underwater kingdom featuring in the Aquaman comics.
