The chickens are running onto consoles, but not in a genre you might expect! This is a top-down, real-time heist game with a focus on stealth. It comes with a unique story, too. Set after the Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget movie, characters like Molly, Rocky and Frizzle are challenged with rescuing their flock from the nugget industry.

This involves sneaking past security into heavily fortified farms to set captured chickens free. It’s a great genre for this series, as you control a whole gang of chickens, plotting a path through a farm filled with guards and security systems. It’s open-ended, with multiple approaches to take on each of the five farms, meaning it’s fun to replay, too – especially as the difficulty escalates. (Or should that be eggscalates?)

You’re helped by gadgets (yolk bombs, feather gliders, disguises, and so forth) and each of the playable characters has different skillsets to utilise as you swap between them. Plus, teamwork plays a huge roll, making it even more fun in the 4-player co-op mode. Succeed and the final escape feels awesome as the game becomes an action/chase experience once the alarm is triggered. All helped by the slapstick humour and visuals of the movie.
