The Monster Hunter series is always worth your attention, but this spin-off will mostly talk to fans of turn-based combat RPGs. The story begins when twin Rathalos hatch from an egg, bringing with them memories of a long-forgotten civil war. You play a rider bound to one of them, trying to make it through a world running scared from the prophecy of their return. The combat system has been added to by new Skyscale Burst and Dual Bond attacks, while you have more traversal and vertical movement abilities to help you better explore the world. We also like that you can now swap between two monsters mid-battle, to add extra levels of strategy to the experience.
