One of the big side-scrolling platformers of 2026 is the next entry in the Yoshi series. It takes a fresh approach to the series’ level design, with Yoshi invited to explore the magical pages of a book. Each time you turn a page, Yoshi gets to explore a new world and slowly restore balance to its enchanted words. Yoshi will also meet creatures in these pages that will bestow magical abilities on him, creating new ways to tackle puzzles and obstacles. Think gravity flips, slowing down time and breathing fire – vey cool! That said, combat is very much on the backfoot, with exploration, puzzle solving and getting lost in the beautiful Switch 2 visuals the main drawcards.
