Hyrule Warriors:Age of Imprisonment

This surprising Legend of Zelda spin-off takes the series characters out of the adventure-RPG genre and into a hack ’n’ slasher. The story is set before Tears of the Kingdom during the founding of Hyrule. It tells the story of how Zelda, Rauru and the Sages fight Ganondorf’s rise and the first Great Imprisonment.

The action doesn’t focus on one character, but on over 20 playable stars, each with deep variations in playstyle. It’s fast and furious as you fight through large-scale battles. The better you can link together combos and switch characters at perfect times to create team attacks or use their unique skills, the better you go. Some of these skills are impressive, like Rauru’s ability to control time.

It’s super fun and you’ll barely believe it when you see hundreds of enemies coming at you at once, especially with the new dynamic weather feature. It makes completing objectives like capturing outposts, escorting allies and defeating mini-bosses very immersive. Team attacks, called Sync Strikes, come into their own when you play in 2-player co-op with a friend, too.
