Since well before even your dad was a little boy, the unstoppable French fighting force of Asterix & Obelix have been protecting their village from the Romans while feasting on wild boar. An old school comic deserves an old school game, and this is a classic side-scrolling co-op platformer.
Solo or with a friend, you take on the roles of the famous duo, exploring, solving puzzles, collecting items and linking combos together as you bash up Romans. Each character has a different fighting style, as well as the voices you might recognise from the cartoon. You’ll also recognise the brilliant slapstick humour.
There is a decent story, too, which takes you from the deserts through temples to Babylon. Asterix and Obelix must travel to the Parthian Empire to save King Monipehni, who has been poisoned by a sorcerer allied with Caesar.
Their quest is to gather ingredients on the way that can create an antidote, but you’ll also find some locals that need your help along the way. Another fun, and funny, entry in the series.
