It seems unfair to label a remake as one of the most exciting games of 2026, but this is seriously huge. The original Halo is one of the most important, and fun, games ever released and it is getting fully remade in the cutting-edge Unreal Engine 5. The beloved 2-player splitscreen co-op experience will be retained, plus there will be a new 4-player online co-op mode to enjoy. Controls and aiming have been modernised, and the ability to sprint has been added. We’re also promised nine new weapons (which debuted in later titles), as well as three full new prequel story missions, introducing new enemies, characters and environments. If that all wasn’t enough; it’ll be Master Chief’s first time on PlayStation!
