Less roof – more power!
For Lamborghini, creating rare models has become the norm nowadays. That’s why they’ve decided to chop the roof off their already wild and limited Fenomeno model – for an even rarer specimen!
It comes a year after the Fenomeno coupe was launched, and it now gets the title of the most powerful open top Lambo ever built!
Like the coupe, the Roadster gets its powertrain from the Revuelto, but Lambo’s engineers didn’t stop there. The naturally aspirated 6.5 litre V12 makes a stupid 824 horsepower and revs to 9250 rpm – the most a Lambo V12 has ever produced on its own!
Pair that with three electric motors and a 7 kWh lithium-ion battery, and the combined output cranks 1065 horsepower. The result is a 0-100 km/h run of 2.4 seconds, 0-200 in 6.8, and a top speed past 340 km/h. Insane stats for any supercar, let alone one missing its roof!
Decapitating a supercar usually means some loss of downforce, but not here. The windshield gains an integrated carbon spoiler that pushes air over the cabin and feeds into the engine bay, instead of the air scoop.
The rollover protection bars behind the seats have been engineered flat with an ultra-low silhouette, and the active rear wing system works alongside a reworked diffuser. The end result is identical downforce numbers to the coupe!
Every example will show off Blu Cepheus paint with Rosso Mars accents, a nice tribute to the 1968 Miura Roadster and the Bologna city colours.
Inside, the cockpit maintains Lamborghini’s pilot ‘feel’ with three digital displays, aviation-style switchgear, and carbon contoured seats with red stitching. Hexagons are everywhere, including air vents, instrument graphics, and even the engine cover!
Pricing starts from AU$8.2 million with a 15 car only run, with only one example set for Australia! Lamborghini don’t do right-hand drives, so the Aussie car arrives in left-hand drive only. A small inconvenience though, to have the absolute peak of Lamborghini’s V12 era and a rare invitation to one of automotives most exclusive clubs!
